Steve Glasson of Australia commented:

On behalf of Bowls Australia and the entire Australian contingent, we are delighted to have been extended this generous invitation to come to Wales and compete in the 4 Nations International Test Series. Wales and Australia have long enjoyed a close, friendly and competitive relationship and this tour will further enhance this close bond.

From the Australian perspective, our involvement in this series is a vital step in our preparations for next year’s Commonwealth Games and the opportunity to come to Llandrindod Wells and compete against the World Class Welsh and NZ Teams is an opportunity not to be missed.

We have selected a team with a great mix of youth and experience and we will certainly be keen to enjoy the hospitality, greens and competition whilst learning as much as we can in order to further prepare for the Games next year.

We are very much looking forward to arriving, enjoying some high class fixtures and meeting new friends and enhancing those friendships already made in the past.

Dave Edwards of New Zealand commented:

“We are really excited and looking forward to our visit to the UK. Obviously the key focus for us is the opportunity to train and play on the Commonwealth Games greens in Glasgow, however the added bonus is our proposed visit to Wales prior to heading to Glasgow. This visit came about following discussions with the Welsh personnel while we were both in Adelaide for the 2012 World Championships. We jumped at the chance to visit Wales and to get some further tough match play which makes our trip even more worthwhile. The friendliness of the Welsh management and players is the icing on the cake”

We would like to thank Llandrindod Wells Bowling Club for hosting this event and for their help and support.
