Welcome to the Welsh Women’s Bowling Association website!

One of the most successful sporting organisations in the country, the association was founded over 70 years ago in 1932 by 25 ladies from six different clubs.

Such is the popularity of lawn bowls that the association has grown in strength and size over the last seven decades and now boasts eight county associations of which there are 160 affiliated clubs. The WWBA has a proud history of successes - champions of both the junior and senior international series’ and medal winners in the coveted Atlantic Championships, World Bowls and Commonwealth Games. Recent successes have included 2009 when Wales won the team event at the Atlantic Championships in Johannesburg, and more recently at last year’s Commonwealth Games when Hannah Smith and Anwen Butten were bronze medal winners in the pairs.’

These achievements have all helped to put bowls firmly in the top 10 sports in Wales list - much to the delight of the WWBA.

Thank you for visiting our site and happy bowling!
